Delores’
Set on a steep hillside in Echo Park, Delores was designed by Terremoto and built by our team. The project presented not only a challenging site but also a demanding client dynamic, requiring extra care to keep the vision on track. We transformed the slope into an accessible and livable landscape with a network of wooden 6x6 stairs guiding circulation throughout the site. Plantings feature a mix of California and Australian natives, chosen for resilience and beauty. At the center is a pool conceived to feel like a timeless ruin — brought to life by a custom distressing technique our crews developed to give the concrete a weathered, storied character. The result is a dramatic yet grounded space that connects directly to its hillside setting.
